This isn’t the first time songwriter, producer, DJ, remixer and co-founder of the Greco-Roman label Joe Goddard has joined us the No.6. In 2016, the member of Hot Chip headlined Stage No.6 on Saturday with a truly electric performance. As the other half of the 2 Bears, Goddard has been at No.6 a handful of times.
This year Joe Goddard will perform a live set in The Grand Pavillon, combining a thirst for experimentation, an instinctive understanding of the dance-floor and a love of left-of-centre pop music.
As well as working on six Hot Chip albums and two with Raf Rundell as the 2 Bears, Joe has remixed the likes of Kraftwerk, New Order, Disclosure, Dirty Projectors, the Chemical Brothers, Wiley and Jessie Ware, produced tracks for Franz Ferdinand, Bernard Sumner, Little Boots and Dels, and released a string of solo singles. Gabriel, his haunting 2011 hit with singer Valentina, was his first big success beyond Hot Chip. “It made me feel that I was capable of doing things outside the band,” he says. A keen collaborator, he is set to appear on forthcoming projects from Michael Mayer and Tuff City Kids.
