Stealing Sheep are bringing their Suffragette Tribute to Festival No.6. In response to the centenary of suffrage, Stealing Sheep are celebrating women inspired by the suffragette movement, featuring surrealist costume, dance, mobile synthesisers, cowbells and a 15 piece female marching band. We are offering guests a unique and very limited opportunity to become a part of this exciting performance. Apply to carry a prop or dance as part of a special troupe of festival goers, and join in the tribute to women, equality and empowerment.
This performance is part of the Both Sides Now programme led by Brighter Sound, and commissioned by Edge Hill University in their role as Sound City Innovation partner to champion student excellence, and as part of their Wonder Women programme of events to mark the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage. Both Sides now is an initiative which aims to support, inspire and showcase female artists based in the North of England.
You will take part in a movement workshop and then become a part of the performance, which includes a procession through the Village and finale in the Central Piazza.
To take part you will need to be:
– Available on Saturday 8th September from 4pm til approximately 7pm
– Over 18
– Sober
– Have some experience of dance/ movement/ performance and be confident performing in public
– Able to source your own white clothes to wear
