Festival No.6 truly comes to live after-hours, from cabaret, the Late Night Pavilion to Studio 6, we’ve got something to suit everyone. Read our selection of our finest late night highlights. Be seeing you after-hours…
Meirion Rouge
Meirion Rouge is Portmeirion’s answer to Moulin Rouge. An entertaining late night cabaret venue open every night into the early hours, hosted by Shelly and Rick Worthy, who have 20 years of experience curating the Circus Field at Glastonbury. Expect the very best in alternative cabaret, raucous burlesque routines and outrageously funny theatrical shows. Everyone is welcome to join the party and make an exhibition of themselves.
Jarvis Cocker
We’re thrilled to welcome Jarvis Cocker to No.6 for the first time. The Pulp frontman will be DJing in the Castell Gardens on Saturday night. A true national treasure, Jarvis originally founded his band Pulp at the age of 15 in Sheffield in 1978. The band eventually found huge success and Jarvis became a figurehead of the Britpop genre of the mid-1990s. Jarvis went on to a successful solo career and presents a BBC Radio 6 Music show called Jarvis Cocker’s Sunday Service. Be seeing you Jarvis.
Charlotte Church’s Late Night Pop Dungeon
After a beautiful performance on Stage No.6 last year for Bowie Reimagined alongside the No.6 Ensemble, we are excited to welcome back Charlotte Church back to Portmeirion. This year, with a slight difference. Down the dark, dark stairs, upon the bloody gallows of soft rock, through the oubliette of cheese, into the torture chamber of disco, you are welcomed to the Late Night Pop Dungeon.
Goldie’s double DJ sets
We’re excited to welcome the drum’n’bass legend Goldie to Festival No.6 for the first time this year. Striving to be the hardest working man in Portmeirion this year, Goldie will be doing a ‘Journey Man’ DJ set, a separate drum’n’bass DJ set and a fascinating talk with Mary Anne Hobbs.
Nightly processions
The nightly processions have become one of the nocturnal highlights of Festival No.6. The torchlight procession in particular offers festivalgoers a unique opportunity to become a part of an exciting and beautiful No.6 ritual… by signing up to carry a burning wax torch in a fantastic fiery procession of 100 flames, which meanders from the Village to the Castell Park.
